Yes, it works well. I like the lead in lines and the way the path breaks the reflection between sky an buildings.

I like the general composition but the post in the middle does act as a 'stop' for me & almost prevents me from going further.
I like the reflections & the life saver at bottom left.
I reckon you could have afforded a slightly higher ISO value which would have brought down your exposure time thus avoiding the slight noise I am seeing bottom left & perhaps some of the brighter highlights.
I can see a few wee halos along the tops of the buildings creeping in which could be due to a bit of over-sharpening or indeed the compression needed to post to the Gallery.
I have done a mod for you......removed the post in the fg with the clone tool & tried to replace the missing reflections of the windows in that section,Removed the halos..dead easy to do,just select the clone tool,set it to 'darken',select a bit of the sky to clone from & away you go.Slight crop from the very bottom.Oh & I shifted a few dust bunnies from the sky too using the patch tool.
Colours are ok & I like the diagonal of the boardwalk.

Thanks for the great critique, Janet, lots to think about there. I hadn't spotted the dust bunnies or noise so I need to look more carefully. I like the tip about cloning out halos and thanks for the mod.

Nice in general and whilst your verticals look pretty close at the edges, the 10mm effect gives a 'leaning outwars' effect. Bit of barrel distortion I think. The time of day makes everything look a little blue grey too. I think I would have come down to f8, I think depth would still have been enough. That would drop shutter speed two stops.
The digital version of reciprocity failure from long exposures seems to be noise, but I don't see much at this size. I have noticed odd coloured pixels on my long exposure images. Shorter exposures will also reduce traffic vibrations and the like.

I know this area well.
The image has a lot of potential, but, for me there are a couple of points. The deck planking been the main one. They take the eye from the RHS of the frame straight outside the frame at the other side. It is difficult as I find these difficult to get a good composition. You could try with the deck exactly horizontal to give different layers - a horizontal composition doesn't tent to draw the eye. If you can when composing try to break the image down to simple shapes (triangles are good)
I would also compose with the main building (round one) close to the 1/3rds - or slightly off centre.
My other comment is with the light in the post its too bright and distracts.
