Heidi, this is very tranquil...but IMO the composition is me it is improved by cropping half of the empty space from either top or two different preference is to crop half of the sky area, still retaining all the lovely colouring.

It is a tranquil scene, but I agree with Michael. Generally a vertical compo gives a dynamic feel and a horizontal one a tranquil feel. The effect is a bit unsettling. I guess if you're shooting for book/magazine cover it's better. I guess there was something you wanted to keep out of shot to the L or R ? A bit of linear gradient tool to the sky would add some interest to it.

Thankyou for the comments. You are right of course, I was trying to keep a dark area out of the right side of the picture whilst still retaining the two lines in the sky that are reflected in the water. Unfortunately the lines in the sky look very washed out on the uploaded photo.
