Tree and my shadow???

By marktc
Hardly walking down the avenue though!

I was really surprised to find snow still lingering in the hedge at the base of this tree, I thought I would try and capture it in the bright sunshine and try to add a little movement in the clouds at the same time.

Processing it seemed to bring out a sort of 3D effect, which I quite like. V2 a mono conversion

So although still a long exposure, very different subject matter and to quote one comment... not a pier or groyne in sight.

Thank you to all those that clicked and commented on yesterdays upload, but especially to Andy (andylea), Q (Quoise) and Paul (Skeet1Away) for your generous and very much appreciate UA's.

Have a great weekend all.

That lone tree must show up so much better in winter than in summer: excellent composition and detail captured.
Like both versions, but the coloured clicks with me the more.

Colour for me too, Mark, the blues and greens work together well. Lovely perspective down the line of snow and grass, and I like the spikiness of the twigs/branches against the smooth movement of the clouds.

The mono highlights the shadow and the snow better, but the colour emphasises that
wonderful sky which you have worked with your long exposure.

Very interesting comp, Mark. I like the mono of V2. It adds to the austere feeling of this shot.
Very clever title as well.
