Well spotted! Apart from emoving a slight blue colour cast, I have no suggestions. I've uploaded a mod.

Hello, Penny. Having lived in the New Forest for 12 years, I appreciate the beauty of stumps like this, and when the light is just right to capture all the twists and contours, as in this image, they seem to come to life. I can see a long-nosed monster with claws at bottom right, the profile of a witch with long flowing hair in the centre, the head of a moose or goat in bottom left, and so many other fascinating things. But then I do have a vivid imagination. I see it as a sort of abstract, and there is some beautiful golden light on the ground below it. The light has highlighted the detail so well and you made such good use of it with the setttings you used, capturing clarity throughout. I have done a modification, cropping some from the left, bringing the two tops of the trunk symmetrical at the top of the frame. I cloned out a bit of root from the bottom left corner, and a few small distractions in the background. I adjusted the levels, used colour balance to remove the blue cast, a little contrast and sharpening.
Pamela.

Thanks everyone for the helpful crits they are very encouraging. The crop works well thanks Pamela and removing the slight blue cast too. I'm afraid I didn't get any shots from a lower angle Stu (too far down for me) Thanks all again - Penny
