Tree with a view

By aitchbrown
A tree with a view. I've added a version as I was uncertain whether to crop or not to crop.

This was very sharp, so I've stepped it back and pushed it back to mono. I think it makes a more realistic picture, although I do feel that it looks a little like picture painted on porcelain. Anyway, perhaps more popular than the last couple of images.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look. helen x

I like this very much, it comes over to me as very refined in the softness of the tones.

I like V1, I think keeping the tree off-centre and eliminating the distant tree (which is distracting in V2) puts more emphasis on the subject and converting to B&W adds to the feel.

Excellent mono Helen, subject matter perfect ( could do with an increase in contrast, push the whites )

V1 I think, for the same reason as given by Gary. I do like the breadth in V2 though...

V1 for all the same reasons.
This is a beautiful image. Quite breath-taking.
At the present contrast it looks as if more snow is imminent. I like that.

Cracking shot !!!.....but I'm gonna buck the trend & prefer V2 !!!, but I'd be inclined to crop about
20% off the RH side, in line with the 4th stump from the right.....why ?, 'cos I love that little tree
over on the LH side, & it's such an integral part of the composition for me.....& a crop would balance
it nicely............but that's just me being me ????.Smile

Thanks Nik, I too like that wee tree. In fact I like it so much I'm going back to see if I can find it again. I was in two minds what to do with it, hence the dithering post of both images. Thanks for your comment and the vote. h x
