Tribute to The Samurai.

By Carlkuntze
Shimoda, Japan.

Although The Samurai became an embarassment to The Tokugawa Dynasty by the end of their endless civil wars, they owed them a debt for their services.
But without patrons, they would be regarded as no more than wandering brigands. Joke is they were the forerunners of The Yakuza. This finely carved statue pays tribute to their unremitting courage.
