Taken the same day as my previous upload, after photographing the coloured artwork, headed up into the Trinity Shopping centre. Though many shopping centres don't allow photography, it is welcomed here. This central court is dominated by 'Equus Altus', a sculpture of a packhorse carrying a roll of cloth, created by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott. It stands 5 metres (16 feet) tall, weighs 2 tonnes and on a 10 metres (33 feet) tall steel column.
Packhorses were used to transport goods, in particular, cloth, to and from Leeds; the artist said: "My thoughts behind it were about the history of Leeds and the wool and textile industries and how horses were used as the HGV at the time".
