Trouser Swap?

By lifesnapper
Hi all and many thanks indeed for your kind votes, comment's, mod's and award on my previous image, very much appreciated.

My silly Sunday offering this week was taken during remembrance in Rochester. The long and the short of it is; are they having a Wallace and Grommet moment? (The Wrong Trousers.) Smile

Have a super silly Sunday everyone, whatever you might be wearing.

All the best to all,

These days it seems acceptable to wear trousers of any length but in school you looked like a **** if your socks were visible, especially if they were white. In Suffolk that was called hoisties, but I learned at university that people say 'jack ups' in Essex, 'budgies' in Newcastle and 'ankle swingers' in Cornwall.

I'm sure there's a lot more variation in other parts of the country and this seems like an ideal opportunity for pointless tribalism, so what's your regional word or phrase for this?

Ivor used the words 'a cracking shot' which puts me in mind of my own pet hate with trousers, THUS...

It's closely related to that awful malady in the construction professions, known in the UK as 'Builder's Arse'.

The top of the trousers matters more than the bottom.

Made me think of a cartoon I searched for now, but can't find it, of a couple emerging from the tunnel of love, she wearing his tie and he wearing her bra outside his shirt...GrinGrin

Excellent, Malc'. Wont be long before such cartoons are banned by some bloody silly minority group. Sad

Or as Tommy Cooper once said ... "I stopped outside the public library, cut off the bottom of one of my trousers legs and threw it through the front door. I thought that'll be a turn-up for the books"

I think the chap on the left had his flood pants (as we used to call them ) on in preparation for a mission to help out with the floods up in northern England . Great candid *
