Superb POV in the version Pamela . It really is a grand old building . I seem to remember at one time they used lead in the crosshatched window coverings , Wonder when that practice stopped ?

It does look so clean and pristine, Pamela. Has it recently had some money spent on it?

In answer to your question, Malc:

By the 1990s, time was taking its toll and the house was in a perilous condition.
In 2002, it closed for extensive structural repair work.
The work was funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of 3.5m, as well as 1.8m from Southampton City Council.
In 2011, it re-opened to the public.
