Tunnel Vision

By TrevBatWCC
First of all, I'd like to thank again Andrew (pulsar69) for his Guest Editor Award on my previous upload The Waterfall , I was really chuffed! Smile
On that upload, Malc (saltireblue) asked 'Is that an opening or mirror back right behind the water?'. Well, it is an opening, a short tunnel which you can walk through from the back and to behind the curtain of water falling over from the top. Like many water features in town centres, when it's a warm and sunny day, it does attract young (and not so young!) children to play around in the water, and the tunnel encourages them even more…
Taken from the back, V1 / V2 is looking through the tunnel, and I had a play around with it in V1, using the Radial Blur filter. V3 is another shot from the front, a bit more full-on than my previous upload, and the tunnel can be seen over to the right-hand side.

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Super reportage, Trev, the use of the tunnel as frame is excellent. A good look through a curtain of water Smile

I do prefer V2, but I understand the logic for V1. Either way this is wonderful, an I Wish I Had Taken It moment. Shutter speed just right to give a 'torn curtain' effect, structure in the water without glassiness.

Like all three images. Nice to see V3 and see how this is possible to be sunny on one side and wet on the other. ......Sandy

I couldn't wish for a better answer to my question, Trev. I do like the perfect shutter speed used to catch the falling water, hanging almost clear sirup-like from the top of the opening.

v2 for me Trev, the radial blur seems to attract your attention rather than let your view go through the curtain. Beautifully processed.

V2 and V3 for me Trev. A lovely lead-in tunnel, but super symmetry in V3.

Vs 2 and 3 for me, Trev, they are both wonderful, so different with excellent pov's. Of the two, V3 wins for me.

Well I am going to be different Trev as I love the radial blur in V1. But a superb trio of shots, enhanced as always by your processing. Moira

The blur on the walls makes v1 special. Excellent work once more Trev.
