Whilst shopping I bought some strawberries and blueberries and an extra bag of granulated sugar for some food photography fun.
My wife has this collection of coloured plastic measuring spoons which I've been wanting to use for ages in my pictures so borrowed one for my fruity coloured shot.
For the background I used my roll of coloured poster paper which was on a backdrop stand and rolled down to the table.
I fixed the measuring spoon to a homemade wooden stand and held in place with a clamp.
For the lighting I used three flashguns.
1 x Nikon SB600 placed to my camera left with my 24" EZ-Fold Softbox - 1/2 power
1 x Jessops 360 AFD placed to camera right with a lee white gel to soften the light - 1/4 power
1 x Jessops 360 AFD placed underneath the spoon pointing directly at the backdrop with a homemade snoot 1/4 power.
All flashguns were fired off camera using my Yongnuo RF-602 trigger + receivers
I placed my silver reflector to the right of the spoon to bounce some light back at the spoon.
This was a massive spoon which was filled with blueberries and 3 strawberries and these were big strawberries(to give an idea how big this spoon was).
I took a handful of granulated sugar and just sprinkled it over the fruit whilst taking the shots.
Some shots had too much sugar and some too little but this seemed just about right.
