Hi, I've uploaded a mod. This is a nice shot, but the central horizon doesn't help it. You really need to have a much clearer reflection for this. With a long exposure you have to decide where the interest lies, and for me it is in the clouds. I would have pointed the camera up and got more drama from that.

Perfect composition in my view. Subtle and lovely colours. A lovely image avoiding the trend for the garish high impact approach. Where is it?

I like the fuzzy reflections the long exposure has given you and particularly the subtle reflection of the sky in the water. But I like Alan's mod as well Grin I suppose it just shows you can make different shots of the same view depending on what you want to achieve.

i have uploaded a mod which is just a very picky point for which I apologize. The top of the right hand peak is less well defined even though it is on the light side of the pic because the grey cloud is coming in front of it. Obviously nothing you could do about it. Anyway I had a go at giving back the top a bit more definition using selective colouring adjustment layer and pulling the blacks slider quite a way to the left. I used a mask and controlled the effect with the opacity slider - very low, about 20%. Hope you don't mind.

Very nice pic Rob

best wishes

like the image, and approve of the tweak to the levels and brightness in the first mod but not so taken with its crop.lesley

In my mod as an example with the aid of photoshop I've reduced the reds a little on the sky and water by use of the red channel in a curve, I returned the colour to the mountains by use of the history pallete and opted for a little more blue, altered the tonal quality of the whites and brought out some detail in the greens with a level adjustment. I changed the icc profile to srgb prior to upload also. You can fiddle with landscapes in editing software an endless amount, its really just what you would want the final result to look like and to an individuals taste. I like your original image.

im not a great photoshop user, bit of a purest at heart, but i like the changes which have been made to the image, using a 10 stop heliopan filter give the image a colour cast which the mods have made more supple thank you.
ian the location is glen etive.
thank you for all your critique, it inspires me to get out and shoot some more

Lovely image. Feel that it is a little flat lacking punch. Also think it needs a small selective crop using the reflection as a lead in line.
I have uploaded a mod. Cropped a bit off of the bottom. Ran a process action on it to extend dynamic range and cleaned the colour then burnt in the sky.
