Twin souls

By HobbitDave
Something different.

I saved a large avocado stone, put it in a dark fairly warm place and covered it with a poly bag. Three months later two little green shoots are sprouting (they usually only have one) and plenty of root system underneath it - I though the lead image looked rather romantic 🙂 The compost was from the garden and has lots of tiny seeds growing. They get trimmed back to let the avocado grow. This little avocado has come through a lot, for me it is very symbolic 🌿

Love how they're rising up above all the rest. The one to the left in the lead does look like it's got its 'arm' around the other! 😃👍🏻
I once planted three grapefruit pips, and one grew dominant over the others and I nurtured it. It grew to well over a foot tall, but it was a very thirsty creature, and I didn't give it enough water when I went on holiday and it died 😳

Sounds good Trev, I must try Grape pips! I grew an orange tree from a pip a few years ago, was really proud of it, it grew to about 2ft 6” in a big pottery pot after 2 years. I gave it to friends to water when I went away for a while and they ‘forgot’. It had died when I came back. I was not a happy bunny 🐇

Terrific close up shots and it looks like the leaves are hairy, which mine aren't. I guess you know they need constant water as my pot sits in a bowl full.

Great shot and well done for getting it to germinate. I’ve only heard of suspending the stone over a glass of water.
