Beautiful colour image. The mono is also pleasing but I think would benefit by using colour contrast sliders in your ps conversion and possibly increasing the contrast even further in your mono version afterwards. Dodging and burning would be useful after that. Worth another go for this lovely shot. Congrats for going out in that weather! A

absolutely finest... maybe cilor is better for ambient athmospheres - as subtle blueish nuaces on snow are visible. a masterpiece, notwithstanding.

Following accipiter's valued comment I have added a second mono version, which hopefully has added more contrast and brightened things up.

Colour for me although the mono makes it even more bleak looking which is probably as it was.
Great shot!

The mono has improved now. Perhaps try starting from your colour version again and if you have ps. try the colour sliders in your 'black and white' conversion instruction. I would move your cyan and blue sliders to the left (darkening) and that will add contrast and drama to the sky. If it is affecting the foreground too much simply select the sky first, soften the edge of the selection by however much you want and then apply the adjustment as above. Adjust the colour sliders for the other colours until you are happy. Black and white images can tolerate a lot of contrast. Good luck. A

A very lovely composition and capture, Carol Smile Although the colour's very subtle, go for the colour over mono. Of the monos, prefer the more contrasty version, which has more punch Smile

Love them all, but the softer mnoo version is my favourite.

Love everything about this. Smile (both versions are lovely but if my arm was twisted I'd plump for the colour version).
