The placement is striking, it gives a sense of the tree being blown out of the frame. Blown leftwards, so towards the past, memories, sadness.
It would be really interesting to see this flipped horizontally because I think the effect would be very different. That tiny clump of trees on the right here would suddenly become far more important...

I also like the position of the wind-bent tree, Andy. And I'm glad you kept the ridges on the far right in the picture because they reveal the horizontal and vertical scale of this open country. Cheers, Bob

Excellent detail of the clints and grykes. I could have used this when I was a geography teacher.

Actually I rather like the Tree itís extremely characterful in so much as it adds to the image and creates a focal point.
