Not quite sure what this bloke was doing in the yard, he seemed to just go around the engine looking at the running gear ... I reckon he must've been looking to buy it

Ah! its the old unbreakable watch test, he placed his new and unbreakable watch on the track at the rear of the Engine and watched as it reversed over it, hes just waiting to see the result , Great shot, love the stories this can conjur up

love the comp and the atmosphere of the steam. think i'd be temptd to clone out the building behind the chap to make the pic prettier although i know the train folk like actual and gritty.with or without the building its a cracker.lesley

Super shot, does no look like that now.
The loco is now in bits undergoing some maintenance work the boiler was lifted out early in May by steam crane, not too sure what's been done to it though, or how long it will be out of action

Yes, I'd heard that too Glynnis ... those types of jobs never happen quickly so I'm sure she'll probably be back in service next year.

We saw the steam crane operating it was lifting the fire box of 75029 off a flat bed wagon, to make room to put the boiler of the 825 on it looked impressive been lifted by steam power.
Then later the same day when we passed on the train the boiler of 825 was on said flat bed, we did not wait around the head shut to watch the boiler been lifted went lineside to gets some pics
