Taken in Docklands, London. A very simple pattern photo, in which I tried to capture the contrasting colours of the red Underground sign against the blue backdrop of skyscrapers.

My personal opinion is, too much going on in the shot and too much space up the top... Smile

Hello, Simon. I have obviously seen this done before, and a lot of people like to desaturate the background. The sign certainly stands out against your bluish background, though, and also has very good detail and exposure. There are lots of vertical and horizontal lines, as opposed to the circle of the sign. I think there is too much of the buildings for the sign to have impact, though. In my modification, I used the perspective correction to get the lines straight (fell short a bit on the left, lol), before cropping and placing the sign in the bottom right third. I brightened the image and adjusted levels. My second modification has some of the blue removed, by using colour balance>warmer. My third modification has the background desaturated. See what you think.

I see two conflicting aspects to this image. I think there is a shot in the sign, but probably not from this angle. There is also an interesting possible shot just concentrating on the buildings. The subtle colour and pattern has potential.

hi, like Pamela says ive seen it before but its still a nice shot, i like building abstracts and this is quite well composed with the left side holding in, the nice blue banding and the sign tucked nicely down on the third.

im guessing without any exposure detail that this about f8 or f.6 and the building at the rear is slightly soft, it would have been better to use f11 or f16 for a little more depth of field.

i did a mod straightening the banding, increased the saturation in the blues and gave the whole thing a good dose of smartsharpen,

hope you approve,
