Underwood Portable

By cattyal
I had nothing that needed doing this lunchtime so I wandered round a different block to my usual route and came across a house clearance shop that I'd forgotten was there. I'm a tad worried that it's going to become a regular haunt - especially as the owner is a very friendly chap and understands just the type of props I like.

Today's purchase was the typewriter - he was going to clean it up and sell it for considerably more than I paid for it - it must not be cleaned - it needs to stay grubby and worn Smile

I may well pay the shop another visit tomorrow - he had a camera there that I'd be interested to know the price on.......

Wonderful to look at - a nightmare to type on - remember having to tippex all the copies!
Great still life. Looking forward to more with the typewriter.

Happily I learned to type on a word processor about 32 years ago but did used to have to prepare stencils for a mimeograph machine on an old style typewriter - that used to be fun!

That said I do have a few daisy wheels and golfballs from the old electric typewriters I used to use at work before we got modern!

A really great find. I learned to type on something similar to the beat of the William Tell Overture on a wind up gramophone! Seems surreal now - and I think it probably was at the time! SmileSmile

Tiz a lovely set-up and balance Al ,

But its always looking at the flash directional , bingey bongey bounce thing.

Anyways , slapped a quick mod to mute and form Smile

Thanks again everyone Smile I'm sure I'll be getting more props from this chap - he might even loan them to me which would be handy!

Thanks too for the mod Dave - you can have a crack at my next upload now - it's all bingey bongey again Smile I much prefer natural light with maybe a little help but sadly there's still not much of it about in the evenings! One day I'll slow down and see if I can come up with lighting you approve of Tongue
