27 July 2018. Lancashire UK. A reservoir owned by United Utilities has now substantially drained for much of its area. It is now possible to walk straight across several places that would have been under metres of water only days ago due to the ongoing heatwave. United Utilities said that the Pennine Reservoirs only had around 50% of their capacity, and typical use is around 5% per week in figures as measured on 22 July. . A hosepipe ban is due to come into force on 5th August. Photos by Phil Taylor
