love the angle and how the ONBEKEND (UNKNOWN) lettering catches the light to counterbalance the brightly lit flower

Thanks early birds.
Leo, something that fascinates me is the character of the nations' cemeteries on the Western Front. The German cemeteries are quite austere, with mature oak trees but no floral planting. The British cemeteries are pure Arts & Crafts, with Lutyens's designs and English Country Garden planting. The French and Belgians use floribunda roses, this cemetery had been replanted since a previous visit we made some years ago. And the Belgians are the only nation apart from the British to use broad headstones rather than crosses - so they can include much more information. When it is available, which is not always the case...

A super image especially the light on the top lettering acting as a foil to the roses. Quite poignant since also
unknown, so no family to visit and mourn.

Always sad to see these graves, but well captured here Moira, like the angle and framing 👍
