What a great candid Pete, the fg is commonplace but with the bg it's a great shot. I'm never happy with parking tickets and touch wood don't get them mor e than once a year. But I dislike the culture of paying for parking, we pay for having a car in the tax when we purchase we're taxed for using the roads and we have some of the highest tax on the petrol we use to fuel the car . The Government closed the railway lines which forced the goods onto the roads and they get charged for the lorries (rightly so) and the cost of food goes up, then the Govt spends our hard earned on trident and making themselves look good on the International TV. People like Cameron and many others forget who pays their bills. US, the British taxpayer.

Sorry for the rant on a fun candid,

Dougie

PS at least I wasn't being nasty about you personally. Your not the Chancellor of the Exchequer?

Great candid, the juxtaposition of the lottery sign and the issuing of the parking ticket really works.

Nice photo Pete. Shame some people seem to think parking illegally has something to do with the government and taxes. I'm sure there was somewhere within 50 feet that this "lucky" person could have parked legally.

They must be on a mission - I watched the same scene unfold as I did my shopping today and walking back to the car there were too many to count..... did not have my camera....

That seems such a loving, tender touch.
All strength to her. I pass a significant part of my life glaring balefully at motorists as they park on bus stops and pavements, when there are five (free) car parks within a few minutes walk.
Soap box moment over... Good bit of PJ.

You might be right Bri but in my opinion most people will try to park legally first. There are always people who will gamble but they are in the minority. I think it has become increasingly obvious that many local authorities are taking every opportunity to make as much money as possible, often by quite dubious means, from visitors to 'their' boroughs.

Well seen Pete. I like the opportunity that street photography affords for juxtaposition and this is a great example

Derek, I was referring to the first comment (rant) on here, not the driver.. Smile Some people will blame the government for everything
