untamed power

By bzbee
This is a juvenile black eagle on its maiden flight. I was asked to get this shot for a friend who owns the bird and we are still wondering if the quality makes it worth printing and framing. Any feedback welcomed!! It was a contrasty day and I was rather close, so not ideal, but it was the first time the baby eagle had been off the ground, so worth keeping for that reason alone

The only way to find out is to print the image...............personally I like this has a haunting feel about it.............the menace in the bird is apparent.......GrinGrinGrinGrin

" it worth printing and framing" You may lack some confidence Linda, but your photography skills are unquestionable.
My answer is a resounding YES Smile Smile Smile
It is an astonishing image, in every respect.
I don't need to tell you how difficult it is to take focused images of BIF coming towards you - but this time you nailed it.
And the background is beautifully dramatic.
Highly Impressed..!

It's a fantastic image, and not because it was the eagle's first flight. If you don't print and frame it you are doing the wrong thing!!!

Thank you everyone. My friend does want it printed so we are going ahead. The shooting conditions were not ideal and I knew I could have done better with a better lens, different camera, better light etc, but I guess that applies to most photography that we all do.. It's a good thing never to be satisfied but very unsatisfying!! Many thanks to Christine for the UA. Much appreciated

Wow...this is superb. Haven't awarded my UA in a while but this deserves it.
