beautifully you have taken it, i could have given my vote to the image. as you have send it to the critique gallery, i should say this image is slightly overexposed, because there is a lot of tonal density at the right side wall of the histogram. it is solely for the reason that the background sky is bright and the head is covered by the white feather. in such cases like this one you should underexpose the image, it can give you a better result. i have uploaded a modification here i have made level adjustment and sharpened the image by the use of USM. i have done it quickly for lack of time so you(yourself) can do it better.
i have also placed the subject at off-center because such kind of placement often works well.

Hope it helps,

Hello, Ari, and congratulations!
Truly a very expressive and clear shot, with a strong impact on the viewer. The tones are natural, the posture is interesting, but, on the other side, i tend to say it seems a little overexposed.
I uploaded a modification where i modified a little the exposure (especially that of the background, to retrieve some detail in the sky). The slight overexposure didn't bother, but i still thought i'd give it a try. I also added just a little more saturation, contrast and some sharpening (although it wasn't really necessary), yet not as much as somnath, as i find too much sharpening as bothering to the eye.

I hope i wasn't that useless with this Smile
Good luck and congratulations, again!
