Urbex light & Shadows II

By saltireblue
The second from this location, a derelict, small private power station - see last week's upload for more detail - and stand by for a shock, ladies and gentlemen - I have finally found the colour button on my camera - see V1 for proof.

Being a typical man, I have never opened the user manual, so it has taken a while for me to explore all the buttons, knobs and wheels and discover what they do. Problem is, though, I can't remember which combination gave the colour, so I cannot promise that I will in future be able to replicate the phenomenon...

Many thanks to all who commented, awarded or voted on my previous effort - much obliged.

Thanks for bothering.
Malc

Nice either way. I would of course be looking for a square crop from the right side...

Instant award. It must be Monday today.

Funnily enough, Malc, I have long laboured under the impression that monochrome photos were the creations of colourful personalities WinkWinkWinkWinkWink

I’m sure there are pills the GP can prescribe for this bout of colour madness ..... they’re big round ones that come in a black and white box. Unusually for me I much prefer the BW version Malc, it looks pure and simple in your ultra-high contrast style whereas the colour version is a bit too busy.

Like Moira I’d love to see a square crop of the right half of the image.

I see what you both mean, and did consider it, but I wanted to include the third element of the left-hand
window. Plus, it would then resemble last week's image too much for my taste.Smile

I like both, Malc , the limited colour palette in V1 shows more rust and sense of abandonment, the B&W is more graphic. I agree with Moura's suggestion of a square crop of the right half of the image, where all the interest lies.

I will return the message, Dave, and inform you that your witch doctor can prescribe herbal tablets, made by pounding the colourful ingredients found i the jungle into tablet form, which will soon have you seeing all the beautiful colours again. All your troubles will disappear too, on you trip, man...

Such a great image Malc, chains, patina, textures, and interest.
Very well seen and well-executed. I go for mono... But I am happy to have seen the colour version...

You could go completely off the rails, Malc. Both of my cameras have six different picture control
settings, only one of them is monochrome. Who knows what you could (accidentally) create, if you
twiddled the knobs, wheels and buttons a bit more.

Yes, the lead for me. The yellow band is a bit of an eye-catcher in the colour version. Stick with mono, it is coming back in fashion?

You have found colour button Tongue, you must have consumed a lot red liquid...but truly I prefer your version here...

You need a ice cold compress and half a bottle of fine wine Malc...colour indeed !! Wink But, on this occasion the B&W says so much more to me.

I agree with the square crop brigade... I personally think the result would be sufficiently different from last week's.
But of course it's your show, and that's the end of the matter.

Alfred still likes it.

You just had to prove you could do it, didn't you. You're not colour blind after all. But...you know what. I prefer your preferred b&w one here.

Congratulation on discovering colour, Malc! Like both versions, the mono is more stark, but of course, doesn't show the lovely rust on those chains 😃👍
