Using Blur

By achieverswales
Thank you all for great comments and votes yesterday. On Thursday at our camera club we had a talk on macro photography, the guy was very good and he does some great work, one thing I picked up might be of interest to the ones who do not do this technique, he explained that many flower captures have bad backgrounds and he uses the blur tool to cover these with the different tools, Radial,Motion and others, I have done these three with terrible backgrounds and I think that the shots have been enhanced, you can desaturate the background if it is too bright, hope this is of use to some of you.

Works very well indeed Trev.
I have many rust shots I do not use due to ''messy'' BGs.
Might be worth a try on these !!

That's an interesting bit of technique and processing that I must keep in mind, Trev, as from this trio it seems to be an effective way of handling a potentially distracting b/g.

Extremely effective Trevor - what an impact in V3!
Not sure how you're separting flower from b/g to apply effect.
Selection or mask? I'd definitely use this technique.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone, sorry Kate with the lasso tool draw a rough outline around the flower, feather the selection about 80 Px go to select - inverse then add the blur tool that you are going to try, if it is not good ctrl and Z and try another.

Regards

Trev.
