Vendor - Herzliya Market - Israel

By GeorgeP
I’ve been happy with Lightroom 5.7 to organize and process my digital images, but I thought I should check out the latest version with a Lightroom CC trial. This is an old shot. It was captured on a business trip to Israel. I was visiting some offshore gas projects and stayed in Herzliya, just north of Tel Aviv. The young woman was selling jewellery at a “street market”. I took several photos of her that evening and I suspect she had some doubts about that old guy with the camera. I like the image . . . but do I really need to upgrade to the latest version of Lightroom? I’m not convinced.

I was forced into light room when Apple stopped supporting Aperture-- still missing Aperture as I think LR is a complicated mess-- still using photoshop for editing...I, too, like this wonderful picture of the ambitious gal!

I suppose it's difficult to make any kind of comparison without seeing the image processed in both versions and displayed side by side. Do you feel that the CC version gave you more leeway with, say, controlling shadows and highlights or other things? As an image though, I like it a lot.

I'm still using Lightroom 4, so version 5.7 seems futuristic to me! At some point in time, they'll stop supporting the earlier versions and put all their resources into improving the CC version, but I'd say stick with what you're comfortable using for the moment unless there's obvious, massive improvements available to you in the latest version. Your choice though Smile
