Vertigo 3

By mrswoolybill
This is the third of my ‘vertical letterbox’ shots from Whitby. This is a little courtyard just off Brunswick Street. Like a lot of the town, the courtyard is at 45 degrees.
I think I’ve counted 28 separate artefacts and ornaments in this shot, but I get a different number every time I try.
This one’s for John (laurel), I reckon it’s his sort of shot. Sort of Polperro goes North...
Please view large for maximum detail!
Thanks for looking.

Superb capture, Moira, and full of interest. I immediately thought of John when I saw the little fella on the steps! Carol

This is definately the best so far, lots of interest and colour and a nice lead in with the steps.
Be surprised to see you top this.

Good grief, how on earth can anyone use those already narrow steps!
Well seen and taken Moira, and another great vertical letterbox shot.
Nice one. Annette

You are picking the right comps for your "letterbox period". Lots of interest and detail with steps proving an excellent lead in. It's good that there no JPEG artefacts Smile

Another beautiful use of this format; wonderful composition and great colour accents. It's a wonder they get down those stairs without tripping over all the ornaments!

If you seperate plants from pots and hooks and brackets from walls, its in the forties.Another image made for the format.Fine lead in up these stairs and a bit of repair work going on here.Eating too many pies will restrict your climb to the top tho'.Certainly a well detailed image Moira.

I'm almost getting claustophobic, both from the choice of letterbox format but in particular from the kitsch overkill, a really excellent image

Anther which suits the format or does the format suit this. Either way it is a pleasant scene and fits in well with the series which is becoming most interesting.

Goodness me, a right obstacle course up those steps. Don't think I'd bother, I can imagine the number of times I would hit my head and elbows. The composition really brings it home; fascinating 'paraphernalia'.
