Pretty subject and nice lighting and detail. For me the crop is a little uncomfortable and I feel she is placed a little too far to the right as you look at the image - as if she is leaving the frame. More space on the right may balance the picture more. And a minor point as the dof is good to make the subject pop from the background the red flashes of colour to the left and right edges of the frame are a little distracting and take the eye.

None the less this is a lovely portrait.

A lovely portrait Russell and good to learn a few tips from Coast.
Many of us don't feel knowledgeable enough about portraiture
to make a proper comment.

Although this may be posed, the look is candid which makes this a really nice portrait.

Russell, each one of us interprets the image as we understand it. The common thing in all the comments and that includes mine is that you have done a nice portrait, of a beautiful female. Coast mentions about colour distraction so I would suggest to try a black and white version. I understand,as Andy does, this picture is a candid. I don't mind she seems to be leaving the fame, I think the space on the left contrasts the space of the hair on the left but that is my interpretation. A square format attempt wouldn't bother also. Then having get rid of space on the left she appears to be bang in the middle of the square. Issues solved, photo voted.
