Victoria Quarter

By Philo
Hand held shot from one of the arcades in Victoria Quarter, Leeds. I think this suits mono though I do like the colour version too (V2). I have had a go at straightening the verticals (V3) but I think I prefer the original.
All processing in Lightroom.

Good, but, rather strange from you, a bit flat in tone. The colour version is too. Seems to lack a bit of punch? Could be the elevated ISO. RAW conversion OK? Or did you intend this effect?

i would leave the verticals alone. Suites the image.

Paul, flat definitely not intended so I need to address that as I do like my images punchy.

Looking now on the tablet and looks better than on my big desktop screen, so dilute my comment a bit.

Thats a nice looking arcade.

The verticals are really a matter of preference.

Loaded a mod of the colour version. I would prefer the floor area to be brighter, a little more contrast, and the inevitable warmer tone.

That's a really good mod, Willie, so glad I posted this for critique. The dynamic range was quite high and I think I have dulled the image by recovering highlights too much.

I'm not sure what, but something has definitely gone awry here. The histogram shows a full range of tones, but this looks wrong!

I wonder if you've got something set wrong in camera - though that shouldn't affect the RAW file. Rather weird. Did you apply some sort of effects filter by accident? I know it's unlikely, but this almost looks as if it's been HDR processed...

John, not really sure but I am going to try reprocessing from scratch.

If anyone one would like to have a go with the raw file then feel free.
