A last portrait of the 111 years Chau Ma hill tribe woman (see previous uploads for more info).

Chau Ma women have elongated earlobes. The longer the earlobe, the more beautiful the woman. It was a beauty criteria in days gone by.

The process used to elongate the earlobes sounds pretty painful to me and I do not wish to elaborate. Once the earlobe was enlarged, they could insert ivory or bamboo earrings.

A special Thank you to Nathan (NDODS), Danny Brannigan (danbran), NaturesHaven, Jeff Silvers (cats_123), Richard Shuttleworth (DicksPics), Joline Frazier (Joline) and Peter Jaktlund (jaktis) for their UAs on yesterday's image.

She still retains her beauty. You have done her justice in your fine portraits.
