VIETNAM 2013 #78

Along the network of waterways between Ca Mau City and the Mui Ca Mau, the last village at the very tip of Vietnam, there are villages, hamlets and isolated houses.

There are a few stone houses built during French Colonial but most building are made of corrugated iron. The more recent houses are made of bricks.

I had not realised that so many people live in such remote areas. On two occasions, the boat stopped in the middle of nowhere and passengers boarded a small boat which took them to their house on a narrow waterway.

There are environmental problem for parts of the region as the land is sinking
