View From A Bridge

By kaybee
Not the impressive big bridges I have posted over the last few days.......just the kind of bridge you can find anywhere crossing small streams ad rivers - the sort of bridge that kids love to play Pooh Sticks on, where they can see through the slats or fence: the kind of bridge that adults ignore because they are simply there as a means of avoiding wet feet.
There is no beauty in the bridge, it is simply a utilitarian object.
There is not even a 'view' in the normal understanding of the word - just untidy trees and bushes.
We all know of such a bridge .... unloved and ignored.
I cross two of them regularly when dog walking.
The challenge is how to incorporate them into a picture that maybe - just maybe - somebody may pause at look at.
This is one of my attempts to do just that.

And it is an arresting image. An 'oooh!' moment.

Well worth stopping. Vertiginous.

Excellent viewpoint, technical choices, and processing.

We spend time and money looking for the spectacular: maybe it's better to stay closer to home and really experience our everyday environment. Having seen this, I shall try to do that today...
