Views of Melbourne City

By ColleenA
Good day...
Thank you for your votes and comments and to Isabel (Chinga ) and Uma (ukgubbi) for their UA's...much appreciated.
We had lovely weather this weekend so Rob and I explored our neighbourhood and to our delight found this park and views 800m from our home. We took a picnic basket with us and I spent an hour capturing images of the wild flowers.
Yarra bend park is the largest area of natural bush land near the heart of Melbourne. It is 650 acres and features steep river escarpments , open woodlands , paying fields and a golf course. There are magnificent walks and the yarra river below. I need to find a walking partner to explore further. The spot of green top right is a golf course. Amazing to think we live in a Green belt and the City is only 6km away.

Lovely images Colleen !! When my sister moved there we received Cockatoo photos by the dozen - until they discovered there were more to Melbourne than its Cockatoos Smile

I think the bench adds a place to view from, a sense of meaning for the view. V3 for me. Great sense of the city as separate from the countryside, even if park and not wild.

Melbourne is a beautiful city. I don't think this park existed back in "the old days". I agree with Barbara photography is like shopping best (at least for me) done without distractions.
