Viking Drakkar

FINALLY COMPLETED !!! (Er ....... not quite) The mainsail fairleads, (Anti broach lines) rigged running under the main lower outbooms as they are, are incorrect for a Blue Water sailor. They should run through blocks, to prevent the dreaded CHAFE. This method of rigging is OK for sailing around local waters, but is incorrect for extended voyaging, ie trans Atlantic distances. Here the trim can go unchanged for days, and lead to failure through chafe if the lines are untouched for this duration. The Vikings must have been fully aware of this problem, and I am in fear of meeting them one day, when I enter Valhalla !! Who does not wish for this ? (Have you seen the MAIDENS ? YO YO YO and YO !!!) (Heh heh !).

Many thanks go to brian17302 and cats_123 for your esteemed user awards for my Dragonfly. (Brian Carroll and Jeff Silvers.) A great "Thank you" goes to all the Readers who opened up, looked at, voted and commented on it. Thank you !!

Have a lovely day.

Regards
M&M
