Continuing the wine theme today, but returning to Oberwesel (“the town of towers and wine” – “die Stadt der Turme und des Weines”) from my recent jolly.
As I mentioned in a previous upload, the “Oberes Mittelrheintal” (upper middle Rhine valley) is a UNESCO world heritage site and well worth a visit, both for the landscapes and the wine produced there! This shot was taken from the bank looking down river and shows the typical steep south-facing slopes of vineyards on the Rhine (maximum sunlight, excellent drainage) as well as the tendency to plant vines anywhere people can possibly get to – e.g. the small planted terraces above the rail tunnel!
Technical details:
Exposure: ISO 100, 1/200th sec. @f8
PS Elements: contrast and blue/cyan saturation increased slightly, burn tool used to darken the sky, sharpened (standard “filter – sharpen” settings) and resized/bordered
