The World Series by Renault was held over the weekend at Donington Park - several races featuring Renault cars of differing models. Great weather and plenty of action. A great day out. This shot was taken during the Eurocup Megane Trophy racce.

They're a bit static in this shot, but the colours and good and it's nice and sharp. I think I'd have been tempted to crop it to a letterbox format to lose the tyre wall at the top of the shot. Focus the eye in more on the cars.

Hello Steve, a bit panning would put a bit of motion feel into your shot otherwise a fine crisp sharp and colourful exposure.

Thanks for the comments - all useful feedback. I was panning at the time (but only slowly due to the angle of track at this point) - maybe I should've used a slower shutter speed too? I'll have a play with crops too, to see how that affects things. Cheers.

I think that unless they were moving at F1 speeds, you'd struggle to get any appreciable blur on this shot. Panning shots are more likely to be a) side on and b) much closer to exaggerate the blurred background.

Still a good shot and worth tweaking to see if you like it better still.

I was there too and had the same sort of problems making them look like they were racing. I was also shooting into the sun, big mistake especially looking at the clarity of yours.

Great shot Steve and thank you for your comments on the MiG 29. I believe you are indeed of the aviation photographer on this site and I love your work. For my capture I went with a wee darker, shadowy feel to the capture for artistic reasons but thank you for the critique.
