Vyrnwy Dam

By dflory
View of the dam at Lake Vyrnwy. The dam was built in the 1880s to supply water to Liverpool.
Taken on a mortorcycle tour in 2017, we had come from Bala via Bwytch y Groes, sometime called Hellfire Pass, the second highest road in Wales. The scenery was fantastic, and we were pleased to find one of the best cafes in Wales, Caffi Rhoddion, right here.
With outside seating, this was taken just after my full welsh breakfast. Happy Days...

Not just built to serve a purpose, but a fine-looking bit of architecture too, better than the more modern dams 😃👍

When we are allowed out again, if you are ever in North Wales on a sunny day, its a wonderful place to have a cup of tea and admire the scenery.
