Love the almost monotone colour to this shot; I can't remember the last time I saw a Pied Wagtail perched this way! lol Well exposed, considering that backlighting Smile

lovely shot and agree with Tom I can never recall seeing one perched like this also usually the bobbing about on paths and roads, so well done on getting him where he is - nice details on him too

A great capture..
You're quite right about the difficulty involved in getting these shots.
I get loads of birds in my garden and spend ages at the window with a camera but good results are rare. (Very rare!)

............and what a superb shot it is too - well worth the trouble I would say Smile Wonderful detail and textures of plumage. I love the tones - as somebody else said, almost a mono, but with subtle tones of palest gold and pink.
