I'm always slightly suspicious about mono images that look as though they really ought to have been presented in their original colour incarnation.
It makes me think that there was something wrong with them. Resorting to mono can hide a multitude of errors.
As it is, you've got lots of flat, rather muddy grey; I'm assuming it used to be red, cars with very few tonal differences.
