Walk through the Trees

By netta1234
I had a lovely walk when off work along this road and after I passed the house did a U turn and up the hill past some more trees and the house that you can see on the left.I know that some of the photo's dark, but I was surounded by trees, and I liked the sky,did think of a crop, but decided toleave it and proberbly break every rule.Let me know what you would have done please.
As you can see the road is verry narrow, and I love this walk

Nice composition of a beautiful scene. It could be improved IMO by revealing some of the shadow detail.

A really lovely scene. Maybe trying lightening the shadowed area a little, but I don't think I would have cropped or maybe just a very little from the right hand side. It's always worth giving it a go to see what you prefer. you can always change it back.

It always amazes me how many different walks you have around
you in lovely countryside. Nice contrast between light and shade.
A little more light in very dark areas is all you need.
Don't think you can select area to lighten in Picasa?
Can't remember if there is a slider for shadows!

A lovely image Netta.................. it could be improved by lightening the shadows slightly. Do you have graduation curves on the histogram? Or how about taking away a little contrast?

Not sure what program you use to process your images Netta, in Photoshop, the highlights and shadows button would solve the issue of adding light to the shadows. so reveling the lane leading in to capture!

Rules are made to be broken. Any photograph that obeys every rule is probably going to be boring. Keep breaking the rules. I don't mind dark shadow areas, leave something to the imagination. Oh, nice image anyway.
