Very striking. I'd have got vertigo, for sure. I think it's the pedestrians and their little shadows that really do it for me. nice one, Erica.
.....where's that anyway.....you live in France or what?

No - just a long weekend in Paris earlier this year.
The view from the Tour Montparnasse is said to be the best view in Paris. The reason - because you can't see the Tour Montparnasse from there. I tend to agree...

The shadows are like long, predatory fingers. I wonder if the pedestrians are aware of them? I like the formality, the neat verical lines. Some careful, discreet processing, I think. Plus the cool greys. This really is very beautiful, and unusual.

I was certain that I uploaded a comment before placing my award here: most remiss of me to have hit the wrong key though not, alas! unknown Blush so I'll try to reconstruct what I can remember:

You have used the viewpoint particularly well to use the slanting winter light to best advantage. The low sun has highlighted the skeletal trees and produced a set of even more skeletal-looking shadows, quite an eerie sight. Most remarkable is the way the car roofs appear desaturated, a far cry from 'traditional' views of the city. A remarkable and very good photograph.

Certain French friends of mine make the same observation about the Eiffel Tower. My personal favourite superelevated viewpoint in Paris is from the Butte Montmartre because I can't see the Sacré Coeur from there . . .
Very best wishes
Bill
