Walking Man

By DaveRyder
Another from a chilly morning walk this week.
This Gentleman was in full stride and I only had to wait less than a minute for him to pass in front of the sign to where I wanted to release the shutter.
Fortunately he didn't really notice me and look into the camera.

Walking Man - James Taylor:
Well, the leaves have come to turning and the goose has gone to fly,
And bridges are for burning, so don't you let that yearning pass you by.
Walking man, walking man walks.
Any other man stops and talks but the walking man walks.

Well caught, I like the processing as well,

I'd have waited another second or two until the chap was more to the left of the frame to give it a better balance v the sign imho

Mono for me, Dave.

One of my favourite artists, Mike, was hoping you might include this song. Very fitting! Mono for me, too, goes with the song.

Dave 🙂

I'll offer a different perspective from the one Chris has expressed: I think the weight on the right of the frame expresses the idea of stepping out energetically, as your walker is doing.

One of your best yet, I'd say.

We a great shot and the choice of b&w was spot on. This is a very strong and powerful image that tells the whole story of that day.

I'm with John on the balance side, Dave.
I might add a touch of the left-right theory that it could be implied that he is walking into the past. Whatever, he's certainly in a hurry to get there!
Extremely well processed and geometrically perfect.

Well balanced images, both the images have their own merit, on this occasion I prefer the b&w , Dave 😊

Both very good. Favourite is b&w. Not raining yet but soon.
