St Michaelís Mount Marazion Cornwall. A medieval Castle.Formally an Abbey granted to the Benedictine Monks from Mont St Michel in France. Many pilgrims visted( there are still steps up to the castle called pilgrim steps). In 1588 a beacon was lit to warn of the coming of the Spanish Armada. In 1659 Colonel John St Aubyn bought it and his family still live there, though the National Trust have been gifted it (1954)
