The white reflection is to strong detracts from the rest of the image

Welcome to ePhotozine!

This is an interesting shot, well composed and well exposed. I especially like the use of the light reflecting off the floor.

Compositionally, I'd prefer to see either the whole of the reflection of the window in the floor, or a little less of it, rather than just having one corner shaved off, which looks a little accidental. My first thought would be to include all of the reflection but that might push the wall-floor boundary a bit too close to the centre of the frame. For my mod, I've just trimmed a little off the bottom and the left of the frame, keeping about the same aspect ratio. That's shaved off the edge of the painting but, unless you're familiar with the work, it's not obvious that there's only an inch or two missing. Smile

The photo is also a little soft. Without seeing the camera settings, I can only speculate why but I'd guess that it's either camera shake from a long-ish indoor exposure or loss of sharpness from resizing. The appearance of sharpness depends on pixel-level detail at boundaries, which gets lost when you resize. So it's always a good idea to sharpen after a resize. So I sharpened my mod a bit, too.

I really like the simplistic minimalism of the capture - and the lovely colours and light. I am no expert but agree that it may be slightly soft - but in another way that adds to the atmosphere of the shot although I think a sharp shot would more suit the harsh straight lines in the image. A lovely shot though. Sue

Hello, Joshua, and welcome to EPZ. I like the abstract aspect of your image, as well as the strong lines, colours and light. I wonder if it would have been possible to include the whole of the reflections in the floor? I find the white in the centre distracting, so have done a modification where I eliminated it, leaving just the two exhibits and their reflections. I adjusted with levels and sharpened. I also cropped the left so that both exhibits are only partly within your frame, and cropped the top because it's just plain wall.

Strangely attractive and interesting - I hate to admit it as technically there are a lot of faults. Composition and content are the + points but you have a LOT of camera movement - too much I fear. If it's blurred at this size, it will not go bigger. A bit less exposure too, would help that bright highlight.
