Seriously inspired. Otherworldly - believable. Love the rootarm and frondarm - one powerful the other delicate. Always full of juxtapositions and enigma Dave . . . marvellous Smile

Well....sometimes it hard to stand back and be detatched if you know the person who has put the image up,most(you are an exception)say the same things..and praise just leaps out....so I asked myself should I be frank about this...and I know you would prefer the truth as I see it anyway so here goes....

This is a class apart from most of us...full of imagination...superbly crafted...the mearest hint of Roger Dean(this is far superior anyway...sums up your situation better than most people could actualy write..the ability to get from brain to this takes a lot of doing...funnily enough I was expecting a bit more angst..this seems quietly resigned and calm ...strange for you!
A slight smile on the face?

Now my only real question is it a load of bollocks or compost...you know what I mean.

Do not take thisthe wrong way..but looking at all your work is probably why I can't get back into it...having a bit of a competive streak...I just know I can't get this clever....Awsome is used a lot these days Mr D...yours is and should be in it's own gallery..if I ever win the lottery you will be in one.....will put my stuff in the bargain bin!!!!

One to keep looking at, thinking your own thoughts about the concept. In other words it wraps you in your own world.

Wonderful work this Dave.

Molls is right about the comparison with Roger Dean - the connection was something that came into my head as soon as I saw this. Is it superior? I'm not so sure, his work was original back in the day and his style copied by many. However, this is as good and I suspect a lot more has gone in to the creation of the image emotionally. Roger's work did have a certain element of banality about it. It was mainly about sticking to a commission or appealing to the masses. This piece of work says so much more than "here's a possible view of a fantasy world".

I used to love R D made a 4ftx2ft ceramic version of topographic oceans (my fav)think it is a bit dated now,the computers make it easier to create things....but knowing what to chose, what to leave out.....and on and on make the final outcome as much the creators work as it ever was....tools without brains are usless..I think you have highlighted that so well in your comment Fraser.

I once read a book called The Land of Far Beyond by Enid Blyton... a.... The Pilgrims Progress for Children to understand.
This reminds me of that book.
I loved that book and have read it many times and I love this wonderful creation without listening to the music...yet.

A little bird asked if I had seen your latest - which I hadn't - as soon as I looked, I felt my own spirits soar and I have sit here wandering through time, listening to the sound of distant memories...............

This is one of the most beautiful, calming pieces of art I have had the pleasure to see in my life. You are a visionary through and through.

I hate to use words such as awe, stunning, etc.,etc. - you know what I mean

Roger Dean-esque maybe but only because you both have a similar ability to imagine and then realise other worldly landscapes and make them believable. I can't see you doing album covers for self-indulgent prog-rock bands though Dave.

This is quite beautiful, elegant and detached from the rather turgid EPZ landscape that it shares in an alternative reality.

Wake me up when you load another one please ...........

Well if we all did the same snap and post then the site would have no real artists, just standard run of the mill offal, everyone is entitled to express there viewpoint....but if your going to call or label others work computer generated and chaotic, perhaps you should understand the words you use and buy a dictionary before posting drivel..........
