Just trying out taking photo with out flash in low lighting conditions, I thought that the shadows were good but woild appreciate any comments.

It's a good looking image, however I'm assuming you set the ISO quite high as the image has quite a bit of noise, especially around the darker areas.
I'm not sure how you'd fix it though!!

Well done.
Very sharp considering it was handheld(I'm guessing)

Try using a tripod, (Asda do a great one,full size, folds small,15).

Set the ISO as low as it will go, ie 50 or 100.

Use the self timer so you don't move the camera when the shutter goes off.

Experiment with different shutter speeds.

The photo's will turn out great with very low noise.

Here are the setting of that shot, yes a tripod would have been better in hindsight, and ISO at manual. Cheers
