What a glorious day it was today - brilliant sunshine, lovely and warm.

This brought out all the frogs. I spent quite a while watching both the frogs and the newts (I've added a couple of photos of the newts as versions). I saw some behaviour I'd never seen before, the newts were gathering around frog spawn and eating it! They would gulp in an egg and then shake their heads to separate it from the 'blob', fascinating to watch (this explains why I've not seen many froglets in the last few years!).

Love the frog Karen, but never witnessed that newt behaviour before.
I'll look out for it when I get some spawn.
