water lily

By zarquon
A water lily in a pond. It was just a snapshot, captured while on another job. The aim was to produce an almost monochromatic feel. I had wanted to balance the composition so that the flower had just a little more attractive power than all other compositional elements. The splash of pink helps to create the illusion that the flower is the centre of attention, while remaining quite a subtle part of the whole.

ISO 100 - 35mm at f/8.0 and 1/30th of a second
