OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA This is the south face of the Glacier Perito Moreno in Southern Patagonia Argentina as it ends its journey in Lake Argentino near to the town of El Calafate. I struggled to get a decent image to convey the magnitude of this particular location in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. On one side there are fascinating rock layers caused by molten lava contrasting against the 200 feet high blue ice cliffs of the glacier all of which is surrounded by high mountains. As well as being a visual experience the sound of icebergs calving from the glacier face and crashing into the lake adds to the drama of the location.
