Wedding Pearls

By chase
The second from my session with the little Hawkeye camera.
This time combined with the collar and pearls from my Mums wedding dress, and there she is, wearing it Smile
The camera is pointing to the left for a very good reason, that's where the past lies.

A 3 frame HDR image combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.
Lit by daylight camera left.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome, there is a B&W in there somewhere, I couldn't bring it out, if anyone wants to have a bash please feel free but, please let me know how you got there Smile

Lovely still life and reminds me of my Mum and Dad's wedding photos - war time but left went on...

I love it as it is Janet - wouldn't want to modify it.

Another great image in the series.
You spoke about a black and white and you said you had trouble. I have use a way that is not used that much but first I have to say I evened out the frame around the picture and merged the image down to background layer.
Open the colour image. Now click on "Image/ Calculations" on the top menu bar. I have inclued the settings I used and by making the result "New Document" you have both the colour and black and white files open.
All the the various selection offer different looks.
I hope this helps and offer another way you may not have used.

And there's empty space there for the memory / imagination to fill...
This is the best use so far of your Mum's lace collar I think, it concentrates on the textures without trying to show the structure. And the photo acts as explanation.

Having a little more colour than the previous image I think makes it work better. Roberts mono is good also.

Im always amazed and impressed that there are people who have so many possessions from previous generations, that can put together an evocative image like this. I, like so many others, have nothing.

Another beautifully crafted image Janet, lovely to be able to use such nostalgic and personal items to make a wonderful still life image.
My favourite is the lead, lovely subtle colours with a splash of red provided by the book. Excellent work.

Love the image. I have done a mod. I have been experimenting using the HDR toning tool in PS to convert to B&W, desaturate and just try all the sliders until you get something you like. I then just added a touch of sepia.
